Puppy Programme

Puppies will need to learn manners and life skills to be safe in our busy world.

Common challenges you may experience are:

Toileting indoors, begging, jumping up, pulling on the lead, not coming back when called and mouthing.

Our one to one puppy training will teach you solutions to those problems. We will also teach important puppy life skills at a pace that’s right for you so you’re laying the foundations of a successful home life with your new canine companion.

Skills we can teach are:

Basic manners such as: sit, say, lie down, hand targetting, eye contact (these can all be very useful in day to day situations)

Life saving skills such as: leave it, drop it, recall

Socialisation and habituation skills: dog body language – we will teach you to know whether your dog is comfortable in a situation or not. We will teach you how to handle your puppy to get them used to situations where they will be handled such as at the vets or groomers

Life skills: waiting, coming back when called – even when there are distractions, waking nicely on the lead

Home skills: settling, games and activities to keep your pup occupied while you’re working, house training

Fun skills: some tricks!

We will also teach you how to set your puppy up for success in their environment, tell you about the equipment you’ll need for training and how to ensure your puppy is not worried about people coming near to things they value such as toys and food – this is so important.

We can also reinforce these skills in our puppy care visits so you know that the money you invest in training is being reinforced.
