WALKS WITH A DOG WHO IS REACTIVE

Walks with a dog who is reactive

“Don’t worry, my dog’s friendly!” If you have a dog who is nervous or reactive of some dogs, this is one of the painful statements you here from guardians across the field as their dog comes bounding up to your dog in a rude manner. Your dog may lunge, bark or growl out of fear and in an attempt to get the other dog to move away.

We will cover:

Body language – so you can spot any signs that your dog or other dog’s or their guardian’s are uncomfortable.

Lead techniques – how to hold the lead to protect your hand and so you’re not adding stress down the lead.

Equipment – tried and tested equipment and why we recommend it.

Management techniques – tips to make life less on stressful for you and your dog on walks.
